What does an Educational Therapist do?

"By blending the processes of both teaching and treating, we determine WHY a client fails, HOW a client feels, and what interventions will be the most relevant and effective." Dorothy Ungeleider, founding President, Advisory Board Chair, and Fellow of the Association of Educational Therapists.

More than a tutor, ETs can help to remediate skills, teach new concepts, and help the client manage the unfortunately common low self-esteem caused by having a learning disability. ETs are advocates, bridges between families, students and schools, mentors, teachers, and cheerleaders. They are highly skilled in specific techniques established to support those with learning disabilities.
